Move-In Day Overview

YOU MUST HAVE READY

  • UnionWest move-in appointment completed online in the housing portal.
  • Your UCF or Valencia ID card (current students) or plan to pick up your ID card on move-in day (new students).

BEFORE LEAVING HOME

  • Review the packing list and make sure to have ID before you leave home!
  • Verify your move-in appointment time and housing assignment on your myUCF housing portal before you arrive on campus.
  • Have a Photo ID ready to show at check-in. If you will be picking up your student ID on campus, you still need to bring another form of photo ID. A Driver’s license, State ID card, or passport will suffice.
  • To speed up your check-in, bring a screenshot of your room assignment screen from the housing portal. The image should include your HRL ID and room assignment. You should have this ready to show on your phone or other mobile device. A sample screenshot would look like:
  • Review driving and parking directions on our website.

Upon arrival at the Downtown campus

  • When you arrive at the downtown campus, navigate to the UnionWest parking garage, located off of Terry Ave. Take a ticket upon garage entry.
  • Park in the unloading zone on Floor 2 and use the elevators to go down to the first floor of UnionWest.
  • Residents only will proceed to the Housing and Residence Life Office on the 6th floor of UnionWest, where residents will encode their ID card and receive parking validation for the day and a welcome bag before moving into their rooms.
  • Move vehicles to an upper floor of the parking garage once items are unloaded. Do not park in spaces marked reserved. Parking validation applies until the end of the day.
    • If you have not purchased a UnionWest parking permit, you may move your vehicle to overnight parking for one night at the UCF Amelia I Parking Garage.
  • A limited number of move-in bins will be available for check-out at the first-floor Housing and Residence Life desk. Bins are cleaned between uses but are used at your own risk.

Driving Directions

Navigate via your preferred app or map to UnionWest at 601 W. Livingston Street, Orlando, FL 32801. We strongly recommend paying close attention to signs and traffic alerts. Construction in Downtown Orlando and specifically on Interstate 4 (I-4) results in frequent lane and exit changes. Please follow all posted signage and cautionary warnings as you drive. Upon arrival at UnionWest, you can choose to utilize the city street parking or park in the garage attached to UnionWest located off of Terry Ave. Please note that additional charges may apply to parking in these areas. See posted signage in the area for more information.
