UCF Housing’s Residence Hall Association Executive Board is launching a social media interaction series this week called “RHA Stays Social”. This social campaign includes several online initiatives to help support students and keep them connected. “RHA Stays Social” consists of daily posts on RHA’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts with different topics each day: Music Monday, Tik Tok Tuesday, What to Watch Wednesday, Time Passers Thursday, Feel Good Friday, and Weekend Wellness. Submissions can be entered via a form sent to active members.
The RHA board has also introduced Weekly Hangouts, an open Zoom event held every Thursday at 6:00 p.m. EST. The themes will vary and each week will include ice-breakers and other random topics to help keep students connected. This initiative kicked off this week with “UCF Cribs,” an opportunity for students to show off their current rooms or spaces. The last hangout in the series will be a virtual showcase for students to feature a project, skill, talent, or anything else they want to show off. This was created as an opportunity for students who have worked hard on projects all year but won’t have an opportunity for any final display. This showcase may also double up as a mini talent show, too!
RHA Supervisor, Kaila Kowalski, stated, “We have some incredible and selfless student leaders who are truly going above and beyond to make sure their fellow Knights don’t feel emotionally distant, only physically distant. Many regional colleagues are impressed by our commitment to our students and have noted that we are one of the first universities to put programs like this out there!”
